The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tonasket was held on Tuesday,

March 22, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the City Hall, Tonasket, Washington.

 

Those present were Councilmembers Griffin, Olson, Ramsey and Vugteveen who joined in the flag salute Also present was Utility Clerk Vernie McDaniel.  Mayor Pro-Tem Vugteveen led the flag salute.

                                                                        Approval of Minutes

It was moved by Ramsey and seconded by Olson to approve the minutes of the previous meeting and the special meeting/Public Hearing on March 15th.   Motion carried.

Chickens

Two citizens made a comment expressing interest in having chickens at their property in the City limits.  No action was taken.

Committee Reports

Councilmember Ramsey reported that Chamber is gearing up for Founder’s Day weekend and there will be a meeting at Rancho Chico on March 28th at 6:00 pm. 

                                                                        National Night Out

Councilmember Griffin reported that the National Night out will be held on August 2nd from 6pm till 8 pm.  She said this is a time for neighbors to get to know each other.  Law Enforcement will also be present.

 

The Mayor arrived at 7:08 pm.

                                                                        Dog Owner’s Guild

Councilmember Olson reported that Sue Edick is taking on the Dog Owner’s Guild.  She is setting up tentative dates at the end of May through June to provide information for dog owners in town.

                                                                        Triangle Park/Signage

Councilmember Vugteveen reported that she put a call into Ty Olson about the signage at Triangle Park and is waiting to hear from him.

                                                                        Arbor Day Proclamation

The Mayor signed the Arbor Day Proclamation, declaring April 13, 2011 as Arbor Day for the City. 

                                                                        Unfinished Business

Councilmember Ramsey addressed the idea of a City newsletter.  She would like to take this project on and get back to the Council.

                                                                        Excuse Absence/Hines

It was moved by Ramsey and seconded by Vugteveen to excuse Councilmember Hines from the meeting.  Motion carried.

                                                                        Parent Teacher Organization Letter

It was moved by Griffin and seconded by Vugteveen to have the Mayor and Council sign the letter to the Parent Teacher Organization thanking them for their organization and success of the Carnival held at the Elementary School.

                                                                        Adjournment
