** DRAFT **

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tonasket was held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 7:00 pm in the City Hall, Tonasket, Washington.

Those present were Mayor Walter and Councilmembers Griffin, Fancher, Maden, Ramsey and Vugteveen who joined in the flag salute.  Also present was City Clerk-Treasurer Alice Attwood.

                                                                        Budget Hearing

This meeting has been advertised as a hearing on the 2009 Preliminary Budget and to set the tax levy for the 2009 Budget. Mayor Walter opened the Public Hearing. The Council asked a few questions about the Preliminary Budget. There was a question about the difference in the amount of the parks budget for 2008 and 2009. The 2008 park budget was more than the projected 2009 budget due to the construction of the skate park. There was also a question regarding the amount in the Water/Sewer Reserve account, and the reason it was less in 2008 than in the projected 2009 budget, and that is due to the fact that funds from the Centennial Clean Water Fund will be transferred to the Water/Sewer reserve fund. After more discussion a motion was made by Fancher and seconded by Maden to accept the 2009 Preliminary Budget and file it with the City Clerk and to adopt Ordinance #657 which sets the tax levy for 2009. Motion carried.

                                                                        Vugteveen/Report

Also in attendance were Chris Branch, Alice Attwood and Craig Attwood, the Okanogan City Clerk. Chris Branch will send a draft job description for everyone to review. Then if everyone agrees then the cities may advertise to see if there are any interested individuals.
