A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Tonasket was held on Tuesday,

May 25th, 2010 at 5 pm in the City Hall, Tonasket, Washington.

Those present were Mayor Pro-Tem Fancher, and Councilmembers Griffin, Maden, and Vugteveen. Kurt Danison was also present.

Mayor Pro-Tem Fancher opened the meeting.

This meeting has been advertised as a special meeting to interview two firms for the swim pool feasibility study.

Mayor Plumb arrived at 5:12 pm.

Ray Johnston, Johnston Architects, gave a presentation to the Mayor and Council regarding his firm’s qualifications. Mr. Johnston presented ideas for different options for the proposed swim pool such as having a meeting room that would bring in additional revenue and possibly a separate therapy pool. Mr. Johnston felt that he can give the town what we need for a feasibility study. The Council thanked Mr. Johnston for his presentation.

Josh Tripp, Land Expressions, was interviewed next. Mr. Tripp came with several associates to assist with the presentation. They have many small town clients and have worked on swim pools very much like Tonasket’s pool. There was a question as to whether to process the feasibility study first or to have public input then do the feasibility study. It was commented that will be up to the Committee. The group presented operational books for swim pools that were very detailed and also detailed wall charts to place at pools. After the presentation the Council thanked the group for their presentation.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:50 pm.
