                                                                        Workshop

The Tonasket City Council held a workshop on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 6:00 pm in the Tonasket City Hall Council Room. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss storm drainage in the City.

Those present were Mayor Plumb, Councilmembers Griffin, Hines, Ramsey, Olson and Vugteveen. Also present were Superintendent Pilkinton, Planner Kurt Danison, Kurt Holland-Varela and Associates and City Clerk-Treasurer Attwood.

Kurt Holland, Varela and Associates, described the storm water issues on Third St., and the 3 general options the City could consider. The first option is to do nothing, the second option is to evaluate the specific problem and the third option is to do a comprehensive storm water permit.

After discussion, and reviewing the three options, option number two seemed the most reasonable. Option two is to tv the existing piping on Third St. to determine if the limiting factor was something other than the hydraulic capacity of the existing pipe such as deteriorating pipe, pipe offset, roots/debris or a combination thereof. There was a brief discussion on how to fund this project.

No action was taken and the workshop ended at approximately 7:00 pm.
