Workshop
The Tonasket City Council held a workshop on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 6:00 pm in the Tonasket City Hall Council Room. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss storm drainage in the City.
Those present were Mayor Plumb, Councilmembers Griffin, Hines, Ramsey, Olson and Vugteveen. Also present were Superintendent Pilkinton, Planner Kurt Danison, Kurt Holland-Varela and Associates and City Clerk-Treasurer Attwood.

Regular Meeting
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of

Scott Eisen
Scott Eisen, Scott and Son Builders, was in attendance to introduce his business to the Council. Mr. Eisen gave the Council a proposal to supply portable toilets for the City. This will be considered at budget time.
Danison Report
Kurt Danison, City Planner, discussed the proposed idea of declaring the City Pool obsolete and presented a draft letter written to the RCO for Council review. Kurt also reported there will be another Bonaparte/Mill Drive Annexation meeting in the near future.
Finance/Storm Drainage
The Finance Committee will meet with the City
Clerk-Treasurer to evaluate where the funds should come from to pay for the
storm drainage work that was discussed during the workshop. It was moved by
TIB Projects
It was moved by Olson and seconded by Ramsey to approve and allow Varela and Associates to apply for TIB Funds and allow the Mayor to sign applicable documents. Motion carried.
Engineering Agreement Approval
It was moved by Hines and seconded by Ramsey to approve the Engineering Agreement with Varela and Associates for the Water Plan Update. Motion carried.
Pedestrian Project
Councilmember Hines asked what was happening with the Pedestrian Way Project. It was stated that a few decisions need to be made so it was determined a Pedestrian Way workshop will be held prior to the September 13th, 2011 Council meeting at 6:15 pm to discuss the placement of ADA ramps and possible other items.
Councilmember Griffin reported the Municipal Budgeting and Finance Training was incredibly useful. Councilmember Griffin also presented swim pool usage statistics for the 2011 season.
Hines Report
Councilmember Hines stated that she has been in contact with
a man that does not approve of the Canadian Flag being flown under the

Ramsey Report
Councilmember Ramsey asked Superintendent Pilkinton to look
at the sidewalk in front of the Nursing Home on
Approval/Kuhler Sign
It was moved by Ramsey and seconded by Hines to allow the Kuhler to put up their sign in front of their business. Motion carried.
Public Hearing/Transportation Plan
It was moved by Olson and seconded by Vugteveen to hold a Public Hearing to amend the Six Year Transportation Plan from 6:00 pm to 6:15 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Motion carried.
Burks/Police Academy
Chief Burks reported that he will need to spend approximately $3,283 for the new police officer’s academy training. The Finance Committee will meet and determine where these funds should come from.
Pilkinton/Radios
Superintendent Pilkinton briefly reported on the matter of new radios for the Public Works Department and a base radio in City Hall.
Finance Meeting
There will be a Finance Committee meeting on Monday August 29th at 3 pm.
Code Review
Code review was held for 15 minutes.
Workshop
There will be a workshop on September 20th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm to discuss rates and payroll for 2012.
